I am Alvaro, a software engineer in Madrid.

I like building a thing when I do not understand it yet. The good part is the peeling: a framework, a protocol, a home network, until the behavior matches a picture I can draw.

The job has been product engineering in systems with real constraints. I care about architecture, and about the mechanisms under the abstractions people usually stop at. Agents are in the toolkit. They are fast at implementation and careless if you let them choose the shape. I still want the shape.

Outside of that I keep a small home lab and a habit of reading the boring part of a protocol. This site is a notebook.
